Feb 21, 2010 - I have a Geforce FX5500 and CoD World at War. When I try to run it, it says "Video card or driver doesn't support separate alpha blend, glow will be disabled" and closes.
Hauuibal Says:
Feb 21, 2010 - @garmyhr The video card or on board video does not support minimum shader specs. Most video cards today have 4 and up. Problem you have now, is that dell wires their boards differently then everyone else. Think of it like Mac. You actually have to call Dell to order the appropriate video card for your Pc, pending if you even have a Pci-e slot, won't surprise me if you don't.

Feb 23, 2010 - i dont play much games, maybe the odd football game. I have an ATI X1300pro and want to upgrade my card for my dell e521. The thing is i watch lot of films, mainly 720p,1080P - sometimes. So i will need a better card right? on my windows7.. PC score i have 4.2 score , i feel the graphics area needs improvement since i dont have a great score there. Which card is good for quality? like colors, graphics, HD , interface, etc ?

Feb 24, 2010 - PCI-E x16? A 5450 with DDR3 is pretty solid. For $55 you can get one on amazon, and it's silent, uses virtually no power, has every type of HD capability as well as triple monitor support, and it can do games. It has full Win 7 support, DX11, SM 5.0, OpenGL 3.2, OpenCL, very new card with the latest stuff. Designed for video mainly the PC needs to be quiet when you're watching no? There's other cards, but they're louder, more expensive and power hungry. Might not even work on your PC.
SidneyXda Says:
Feb 24, 2010 - yeah..PCI-E x16. It can only handle the single slot PCI-Ex16. The more wider and bigger ones dont fit in that space. A 5450? hmm i have to check it out. Yes, i would love it for Video and stuff. i was checking another clip on youtube and the guy was saying the HD2600XT - apparently its , light, not big and covers most the things . What do you reckon of the HD2600XT then?
Usul573 Says:
Feb 24, 2010 - That one looks pretty good too. But it's older technology and doesn't have the newer features, kinda hard to find and not as supported as the newer cards. I'd check out the 5570 and 5670 which are in the $85-$115 range. They're new cards with all the coolest stuff, and they're getting to be seriously powerful for gaming, while still being small and energy efficient and good deals. Older cards are built on older processes.
Usul573 Says:
Feb 24, 2010 - If you really do only have about 300 watts, have to be careful about which cards will work.

Feb 24, 2010 - do you guys think I should upgrade from a BFG NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX OC2 512MB PCIe 2.0 for a HIS ATI Radeon HD4870 IceQ 4+ Turbo 1GB DDR5 256-bit? or to put it simple from a nvidia 9800gtx to a Ati Radeon 4870
