Feb 26, 2010 - Terence McKenna was a remarkable person. I can agree only part of his ideas, but his ideas are vital part of preparation of coming singularity.

Feb 26, 2010 - McKenna is right about our current OS. We will replace it, it's inevitable. Consumer capitalism as an OS is the most flexible so far, but also the most destructive so far.

Feb 27, 2010 - E.T. phone home ;) Michu Kaku told very well about SETI and how we might be like an ants next to a highway - no matter how many cars pass by them or how much these cars make a noise , no ant ever understands really that they are next to a highway. And now when you look how little out of all these frequencies that exist we can sense , it might be a true.We clould very well be an ants next to a highway! :D

Mar 5, 2010 - nice insights, i wish society would revert to aboriginal style of life, back then life was celebrated and respected, everything was treated with a soul, we have lost that "magic" style of life and have come into acceptance with a comercial-buy-everything-make-money style. its actually very sad

Mar 7, 2010 - People also died in their 30's, wiped their asses with leaves, and killed their children for being possessed by demons (mental illness/retardation).

Mar 7, 2010 - The difference from ants is that humanity possesses technology by which it can transform itself in something much more greater. First thing could be altering human genome to grow much bigger brains and uniting them with our sophisticated technology - microelectronics. Humanity is still afraid to do this or similar stuff.
fractalchez Says:
Mar 12, 2010 - Most people today in their 30s are already the walking dead, we kill children every day with soul-nullifying medications, media inanity and boredom, and if I could trade away everything that's wrong with our current culture for it, I'd gladly wipe my ass with a leaf or two. Of course, the entire problem with this argument is that it presents a false dichotomy. There is a best-of-both-worlds third way.

Mar 17, 2010 - Just think about the average middle class white person. We all seem so sad, yet we have food, shelter, water, money.. we have all the basics to live. But only to live PHYSICALLY, we are lacking so much mentally. The idea of TRUE friends, TRUE loved, TRUE family and in general TRUE spiritualism.. they are gone.. poor communities in Africa are happier than rich white men in the USA.. why is this? We have lost our humanness!
Pittounikos Says:
Mar 17, 2010 - This is an immensely rich, sometimes dazzling talk on chemical utopianism. Like the philosopher Rousseau, McKenna seems to believe that that the 'yoof' of today are chained by the system and mushrooms have the power to wash the blinkers and so paradice is around the corner. But in other talks Terence promotes the individual and individualism and Utopia dont seem to mix. One is selfish while the other is empathic. Still brilliant though. The world lost a real intellectual. R.I.P Terence!
