Mar 17, 2010 - Just think about the average middle class white person. We all seem so sad, yet we have food, shelter, water, money.. we have all the basics to live. But only to live PHYSICALLY, we are lacking so much mentally. The idea of TRUE friends, TRUE loved, TRUE family and in general TRUE spiritualism.. they are gone.. poor communities in Africa are happier than rich white men in the USA.. why is this? Mar 17, 2010 - This is an immensely rich, sometimes dazzling talk on chemical utopianism. Like the philosopher Rousseau, McKenna seems to believe that that the 'yoof' of today are chained by the system and mushrooms have the power to wash the blinkers and so paradice is around the corner. But in other talks Terence promotes the individual and individualism and Utopia dont seem to mix. One is selfish while the other is empathic. Still brilliant though. The world lost a real intellectual. R.I.P Terence!
