Jul 20, 2010 - Hmmmm, I dont watch this type of Dancing, but, I dont see why race is an issue in a competition? People hatin because they believe the sterotype that Whitegirls cant dance, but that was proven wrong, with 100K payout.

BPrideful Says:

Jul 20, 2010 - @mrparke007 There is a history of disrespecting African traditions which includes taking land, people, history, inventions, culture and so on. It is time that tradition of other people are respected and not stolen. As I said-Stepping has particular meaning to African people. This has nothing to do with Dr. King who is not the only leader for African people. You need to do more research.

Jul 21, 2010 - yooooo whitee ppl could dance when they practice alot but we better you already kno naturally babe gud work tho lol

Jul 21, 2010 - the evolution of the hillbilly line dance......

silvertongue111 Says:

Jul 21, 2010 - You can say what you want, but these ladies brought their "A Game". Creativity, Ability, and clearly a lot of hard work. A large group, but still in sync and tight as hell. *To the steppers who didn't win- you can say that they didn't deserve it, for whatever reason. You can go on and be bitter, and talk trash, and while you are doing that, this team will be thinking of a way to win next year. Or would you rather come with your "A Game" and shut them down? Your choice...

silvertongue111 Says:

Jul 21, 2010 - @littleismail Don't be an asshole...you got to leave your opinion...let her leave hers.

mrparke007 Says:

Jul 22, 2010 - @BPrideful And you need to stop seeing color. It impairs your judgment.

mrparke007 Says:

Jul 22, 2010 - @drroberson4 And just because someone is light skinned doesn't mean they DON'T have white ancestry. I think your point is that you think it's okay to exclude others based on race. I, however, do not. That's the point I'm trying to make. You operate under flawed assumptions. Good luck to you.

yeahyeah4244 Says:

Jul 22, 2010 - As much racism that occurs in our country, blacks should be THANKFUL that whites are willing to embrace their culture like this. Would you rather watch a racist video or one where whites are enjoying your culture?!?!?!?! It's like we're danged if we do, danged if we don't. *Shakes my head*

yeahyeah4244 Says:

Jul 22, 2010 - @BPrideful They "stole" those steps? Why can't you be flattered that they are enjoying a type of dance that is typically associated with blacks? Would you rather them sitting back, making fun of blacks dancing that way? I think it's cool that they want to learn about it and not have judgment. It's people like you who keep racism alive.

BPrideful Says:

Jul 22, 2010 - @yeahyeah4244 Evidently you do not know what racism is. I expose racism. People really do not know or understand the various forms of racism because they do not do any research. One of the biggest forms is the stolen culture and history of Native and African Americans, which is displayed in this video. I am not worried about anybody laughing at what my culture does. I am a proud AFRICAN American. Take your head out of the sand. It is documented-READ.

nya8579 Says:

Jul 23, 2010 - @BPrideful There is a difference between pride and arrogance. Your arrogant to think that white girls participating in a step competition is stealing African American culture. And your the one that needs to do a little reading if you think you don't use things created by white people and their cultures on a daily basis.

drroberson4 Says:

Jul 23, 2010 - @drroberson4 Okay I over exaggerated....we ALL are not mixed with something. However, a large majority of the population IS of some sort of mixed heritage, LOL.

drroberson4 Says:

Jul 23, 2010 - @mrparke007 LOL, what is your point? I see you are trying to. I already stated my point and you misread it (clearly). I am so gracious that I will repeat it for you "ones ethnicity should not be ignored.....one should not be treated differently based upon one's ethnicity" That clearly shows that I have NO qualms about who won. Actually, I could care less, LOL. You are the one operating under flawed assumptions. You know what they say about ppl that assume :) Thank you for the well wishes.

BPrideful Says:

Jul 23, 2010 - @nya8579 Unfortunately, when Blacks express their knowledge about history it upsets some. The facts are that stepping is straight from Africa. The steps that the Divine 9 use are from this tradition of our ancestors; the steps and gestures have particular meaning to us. In terms of African Americans using what whites have created - WE HAD NO CHOICE!! We were enslaved, tortured, terrorized, raped, lynched, Jim Crowed and more. People need to learn how to respect the traditions of others.

mrparke007 Says:

Jul 23, 2010 - @drroberson4 Again, good luck to you.

snowboarderkate7 Says:

Jul 24, 2010 - @BPrideful at my school the black fraternities and sororities taught all the other greek orginizations all about stepping and strolling during our greek week. It is a way to put all of our orginizations together..in no way were these girls trying to disrespect any ones rituals or rights..sorority women know better than to do that because they wouldnt want someone to disrespect what they belive in..every college has thier things we have songfest..they must do stepping..no big deal they did great!

olakunde Says:

Jul 24, 2010 - @SamadvsMusic They actually did. They were AKA's, so... yea.

AblueTux Says:

Jul 24, 2010 - how the hell did they win?? the singer judge gave tht black girl a perfect score and plus how did 2 white bitches get in a black program and if you saw the whole thing the two white bitches told two black women to move the back of the fucking bus its like rosa fucking parks! they should have lost and they should have been kicked off

Misaki240 Says:

Jul 29, 2010 - I don't see how they won (and yes I am a black female) but that being said I don't no steping and I don't really understand/ like most of it (not saying its not nice just that I'm not into it) so this to me is strange but they must have some kind of talent right and no matter the color of their skin dudes they WON on their own talent. Just like blacks fought to get what they have today and scream for justice for all, these girls are part of that all

D0RkiNTUHTAiNMENT08 Says:

Jul 29, 2010 - I hate the fact that ppl are mad b/c they won. So what if they are white who cares they are AWESOME LOVED IT!

onyxhikari Says:

Jul 30, 2010 - The did great.. the whole race card thing is freakin annoying. Ok they're white so? If have the comments were reversed it would be considered horrible. News flash racist comments are racists comments no matter who they're against. Don't be a hater... they won, it's over, they worked hard and achieved their goal. They could be purple for all I care, talent is talent.

minipinky4me Says:

Jul 31, 2010 - those are my sisters! much love from the Kappa Theta chapter in San Bernardino! and to all the haters.....when you complain about not being treated like everyone else (ie: its cuz im "black") then dont be a hypocrite and tell others what they cant do either....then white people will have a reason to start saying "its cuz im white"

Tkieron Says:

Jul 31, 2010 - Skill is skill. Race is nothing. When you're talented and hardworking you can do anything. Regardless of skin color.

mahoganyfoxx Says:

Aug 1, 2010 - I heard about this on one of the Divine Nine sites and I was curious. There was such an outrage by many...mostly sororities about ZTA win. I was kind of bias myself. But, after seeing this video they were exceptionally good. If they were a Hispanic, Asian, or Indian Sorority would it be different? It was a Sprite Stepoff and Sprite didn't specify that it was just for the historically black sororities and fraternities...am I right.
